Hear from former SCC consultants about what the experience gave them.

Being part of SCC was one of the most defining experiences of my college journey. It fostered a supportive and driven community where I met mentors who played a pivotal role in my professional growth. SCC gave me my first taste of ownership and hands-on exposure to real consulting projects, allowing me to apply my skills in a meaningful way. The experience not only strengthened my professional confidence but also shaped how I approach problem-solving and teamwork today.

SCC was one of the most formative parts of my 4 years at Santa Clara. It not only gave me real-world experience through actual client work, but also helped me develop a strong problem-solving framework and approach to vague problems. I still apply this way of thinking not only in my current job but also in my general life. SCC also provides invaluable access to a strong alumni network. I was able to get mentorship from alumni working in diverse industries, including consulting, banking, tech, and life sciences, which helped me greatly as I decided what I wanted to do after graduation. More personally, the club is a tight-knit and fun group of people! One of the highlights of my senior year was the retreat we did at Bass Lake - we had a ton of fun and got to know each other on a deeper level. SCC is the perfect place to to do engaging professional work, explore different career paths, and make lifelong friends.

SCC was my first real exposure to what professional work actually looks like and gave me experience navigating the ambiguity and responsibilities that classrooms can't fully replicate. Working on real-world projects pushes you to adopt a 'figure it out' mentality, and you realize pretty quickly that you're more capable than you originally thought. That mindset carried through recruiting and helped me begin my career in management consulting out of undergrad. Beyond the professional development opportunities, a number of old SCC team members are people I consider close friends to this day. It's a great community, and I'm glad to see the club still going strong!!

SCC allowed me to explore various topics within the corporate space, especially among emerging companies that are striving to make a meaningful impact in the world. Through our engagements, I learned to develop strong communication skills with clients and embrace uncertainty with a sense of curiosity. Most importantly, I developed a deep appreciation for collaborative work environments that promote camaraderie and foster creative thinking. The skills I learned in SCC were invaluable to my time in corporate finance and my recent career pivot into the environmental field.
